    DTG (Direct to Garment) Printing

    DTG Sustainability

    Except for embroidered products, all products ordered use Direct-to-garment (DTG) printing. DTG printing, is a method that sprays ink onto garments and is similar to printing on paper. Because DTG printing is used, you may notice some products print with a white under base layer that may be noticeable beneath the print designs, this is so that the colors look vibrant and stand out from the fabric. DTG printed designs soak into the clothing fibers, that way the prints:

    • Don’t sit on top of the fabric

    • Remain uncracked over time

    • Aren’t stiff and feel comfortable for the wearer

    Care Instructions

    Keep in mind that the original manufacturer's care instructions don't take into consideration the DTG printing process. So we suggest following the care instructions on this page to learn how to take care of your printed garments properly.

    • Printed apparel can be machine-washed cold, inside-out on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent and like colors. Use non-chlorine bleach only when necessary. You shouldn't use any fabric softeners or dry-clean the items.

    • DTG-printed apparel can be tumble-dried on a low cycle, but hang-dry works best. When it comes to ironing, use cool iron inside-out. Don't iron the print.

    • Follow these instructions carefully to avoid fading and cracking of the print, and shrinking the garment that can occur if you wash or dry it on a high setting.

    DTG printing is more sustainable than other more outdated apparel printing methods, such as screen printing. Not only does screen printing use a lot of water and plastisol inks that don’t biodegrade, but it’s also generally used for bulk orders, which leads to overproduction. In comparison, DTG printing is more eco-friendly because items get printed only when they’re ordered, and this method can be used for single-item printing.

    Fulfillment & Shipping

    Fulfillment (Printing the design onto the product) can take anywhere from 2–5 business days. This is NOT included in your estimated shipping time. Products are made especially for you as soon as you place an order, which is why it may take us a bit longer to deliver items to you. Making products on demand instead of in bulk helps reduce overproduction, so thank you for making thoughtful purchasing decisions!
